Abstract:
A blower (1) having a fan (20) placed in a casing (10), a drive device (30) for rotating the fan (20), a dust protection cover (60) for covering an intake opening (11) of the casing (10), and a drive stop mechanism (70) for stopping the drive device (30). The drive stop mechanism (70) has a pressing lever (72) for pressing a pressure sensor (71) by being pressed by that projection (65b) of the dust protection cover (60) which is inserted in an installation hole (12) in the casing (10) and also has a control section (73) for stopping the drive device (30) when pressing force exerted on the pressure sensor (71) by the pressing lever (72) decreases. Because the fan (20) automatically stops rotating when the dust protection cover (60) is removed from the intake opening (11), safety when the intake opening (11) is exposed outward can be enhanced.
