Abstract:
In order to provide a blower for which the infiltration of a subject gas into a shaft hole can be suppressed and the size and cost of which can easily be reduced, this blower is equipped with a first casing (11) in which are formed a gas passage (11c) for introducing a high-temperature gas, and a shaft hole (11e) communicating therewith, a rotary shaft (14) inserted into the shaft hole (11e) in a rotatable manner, an impeller (13) that is accommodated inside the first casing (11), and rotates integrally with the rotary shaft (14), a motor (15) for driving the rotary shaft (14) from a rear-end side, a second casing (12) that has an interior space (21) communicating with the shaft hole (11e), and that supports the rotary shaft (14) via bearings (22A, 22B), and a purge gas introduction means (16) for introducing into the interior space (21) a purge gas having a higher pressure than the pressure inside the shaft hole (11e), the blower being configured such that by introducing purge gas into the internal space (21), the influx of exhaust gas from the gas passage (11c) side of the first casing (11) into the shaft hole (11e) is suppressed.
