Abstract:
Provided are an on-board control system and a portable device that enable a user to activate equipment mounted on a vehicle, such as the engine, without having to operate a manual operation button on the portable device. This on-board control system is provided with a portable device that transmits a control signal for activating equipment mounted on a vehicle, and an on-board control device that receives the control signal transmitted from the portable device and activates equipment on the basis of the received control signal, wherein the portable device is provided with: a communication unit that performs communication with an external communication device; a determination unit that determines whether or not prescribed communication has been conducted with the external communication device through the communication unit; and a transmission unit that, in the case when it is determined that the prescribed communication has been conducted, transmits a control signal for activating the equipment.
