Abstract:
According to the present invention, an on-board information device is mounted on a vehicle and provides information that assists a passenger. The device includes: a voice acquisition section for constantly detecting and acquiring speech uttered by the passenger when the on-board information device is activated; a voice recognition section for recognizing the import of what the passenger said in the speech acquired by the voice acquisition section; a vehicle state detection section for detecting a vehicle state that includes the environmental state of the compartment of the vehicle, the environmental state around the vehicle, or the operation state of the vehicle; an output control section for generating display data or voice data from the import of what the passenger said, recognized by the voice recognition section on the basis of the vehicle state detected by the vehicle state detection section and for applying output control to the display data or the voice data; and an output section for outputting the display data or the voice data generated by the output control section. Therefore, effective assistance by a conversation mode can be rendered in real time on the basis of the recognition result obtained by constantly recognizing the import of what the passenger said.
