Abstract:
The present invention relates to a regenerative electric power storage system installed on-board a DC electric rail car comprising: a filter unit installed in the electric rail car which removes high frequency components from the DC power supplied through the catenary of a pantograph; a storage unit for storing the power received through the filter unit as electric energy; a bidirectional DC/DC converter which is electrically connected between the filter unit and the storage unit and is switched and controlled to a charging mode or a power mode according to a control signal; a DC/DC filter unit which is electrically connected between the bidirectional DC/DC converter and the storage unit to remove high frequency noise; a voltage detection unit for detecting a voltage applied to the filter unit; and a control unit which controls the switching of the bidirectional DC/DC converter by determining the voltage detected in the voltage detection unit. The present invention prevents instability in the remaining systems of the electric rail car by rapidly processing the momentarily regenerative energy and particularly increases the energy efficiency and the stability of the entire urban railway system in the urban railway section in which the variation of catenary voltage is relatively large by the shortness of the operation section by converting regenerative power generated through regenerative braking into the proper level of DC voltage and storing the converted DC voltage as electric energy, and supplies the stored electric energy when the power supplied to the electric rail car is lower than the reference voltage.
