Abstract:
A boat is invented having an element for relieving total weight of outboard engine from the boat to be loaded onto water surface comprises mainly of two parts (54, 56), first part (54) is to be fixed to boat and second part (56) to be fixed to an engine (25, 35, 42) where second part connected to first part through a connecting component (92) controllable in such a manner that second part can either move freely vertically or fixed tightly relative to first part while first part is stationary -to boat. There is ski structure (80) at lower end of second part to help carrying weight of engine and to pass load onto water while boat is moving at high speed. The boat has flaps (170, 172) installed on left and the right sides at anterior and posterior of boat to help aerodynamically keep the boat at an appropriate level above water surface.

Claims:
We claim:

1. A boat for moving above water surface has two flaps at its anterior and two flaps at its posterior where said flaps can move pivotally about a hinge at any angle, where propeller of said boat is controllable underneath water surface at all time, and where at stern of said boat there installed an element to help reducing weight of engine carried by boat.

2. An element, installed to said boat of claim 1, for relieving total weight of outboard engine from a boat and loaded onto water comprises mainly two parts, first part is to be fixed to said boat and second part to be fixed to an engine where said second part has components to fit into said first part and there is a connecting component between the two parts in such a manner controllable that second part can either move freely vertically or fixed tightly relative to said first part while said first part is stationary to boat and where there is a ski structure at lower end of said second part.

An element to be installed to a boat for relieving total weight of outboard engine from a boat and loaded onto water comprises two parts, first part is to be fixed to said boat and second part to be fixed to an engine where said second part has components to fit into first part and there is a connecting component between two parts in such a manner controllable that second part can either move freely vertically or fixed tightly relative to said first part while said first part is stationary to boat and where there is a ski structure at lower end of

said second part.

An element for relieving total weight of outboard engine from a boat and loaded onto water of claim 2. whose first part to be fixed to boat comprises two tubes positioned vertically where upper part and lower part each connected by thick steel plates; from underneath said upper thick steel plate, there hung a first hydraulic down vertically which is said component connecting between first part and second part of an element and whose function can be controlled, outer sidewise from lower end of each tube there is groove, above said groove is a thick horizontal steel plate mounted its one end to said tube one on each tube where two of said thick horizontal steel plates connected to each other by a steel rod having its each end passes through and freely rotates in a circular cavity of thick vertical steel plate mounted to rear of said boat, from a cavity in said upper thick steel plate, there is a second hydraulic connects said upper thick steel plate to deck of said boat through a ring at the end of stem of said second hydraulic.

An element for relieving total weight of outboard engine from a boat to be loaded onto water of claim 2. whose second part to be fixed to an engine comprises two shafts positioned vertically each to fit into said tube of first part in such a manner controlled by said first hydraulic that they can either be capable of moving freely up and down in said tube or be fixed tightly relative to said tube,

where upper part of said two shafts each connected with thick plate to which an engine is mounted onto, at lower end of said shafts there is a ski structure mounted thereto such that said ski can be controlled to pivotally rotate to make a desirable angle to said shafts, device is installed to said ski to indicate position of ski relative to water surface.

An element for relieving total weight of outboard engine from a boat to be loaded onto water of claim 2. whose first part is connected to said second part through a connecting component, preferably, a v hydraulic, in such a manner controllable that in one situation said second part is held tightly and stationary relative to said first part, yet in another situation said second part can move freely up and down relative to said first part.

7. An element of claim 2. to be installed to rear end of a boat. 1 8. An element of claim 2. to be installed to rear end of a boat or a ship whose deck there installed flaps on both sides at front and rear parts of said vessel and where said flaps can pivotally move to a desirable angle relative to said deck.

9. An element of claim 2. to be installed to rear end of a boat or a ship having a device to indicate height of said boat or ship above water surface.

BOAT WITH MOVABLE ENGINE MOUNT

TECHNICAL FIELD AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY

OF THE INVENTION

[0001 ] This invention relates to a boat having an element for relieving weight of an outboard engine from boat while engine still functions to push boat forward.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] It is great ambition of people around the world to have fast transportation while capable of carrying considerable weight along, yet should use the least fuel possible. So many different kinds of vehicle were constructed like that of Glasby (U.S. 1,823,735), Verdi (U.S. 3,207,120) and Thompson (U.S. 3,522,785). Yet these have never been brought to practice due to certain technical limitation. A 'Smart Boat' of Mongkol Jesadanont et al. (U.S. Patent No. 6,892,665), is incredible for its speed and reduction of fuel used. When an element of the present invention has been installed to the boat, it would help reducing the size of flaps mounted to the boat and allow moving of the boat above water surface more rapidly and efficiently.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] A boat with an element is invented to move above water surface having only its propeller rotates under the water to drive it forward with high speed continuously where element is for relieving weight of an outboard engine from a boat to be loaded onto water through a ski structure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a conventional outboard engine.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0005] A smart boat is invented that can move above water surface having two flaps at the anterior and two flaps at the posterior on the left and the right sides of the boat at any proper position in the boat. Flaps are controllable to move

S pivotally at any angle about a hinge which helps keeping boat at an appropriate . level above water aerodynamically. An element is installed to minimize weight of engine carried by boat. This invented element for relieving weight of an engine from a boat must be only of outboard engine type. [0006] AU types of engine, outboard or inboard must be first modified before 0 use. There are three kinds of engine to be modified:

1. Outboard Engine

As FIG. 1, engine 20 whose stem 22 is extended by part 23 and becomes engine 25 as in FIG. 2

2. Water Jet Engine, an inboard engine is modified. 5 FIG.3, water jet engine 30 is modified to become outboard jet engine 35 as in FIG. 4 transmitting power through gear units 36 and 37 to rotate propeller 31.

3. Inboard Engine 40, normally inside a boat as in FIG. 5 is modified to outboard engine 42 as shown in FIG. 6. 0 [0007] The difference between engine 42 and engine 25 and 35 is that engines 25 and 35 use gasoline, they are of lighter weight and is not greater than 300 horsepower (hp) and not mofe than 300 kilogram.

Engine 42 is of diesel type with low speed. Steps of assembling are as follows:

[0008] Element 52 of the present invention as shown in FIG. 7 comprises of 2 main parts as follows:

1. Part I : mounted to rear part of a boat. This part is stationary composed of 2 rectangular ' metal tubes 54, 2 steel plates 108, a thick steel plate 60, a thick steel plate 62, first hydraulic 92 and second hydraulic 110. The weight of part I all is carried by boat at its stern through steel plates 108.

2. Part II : for mounting of engine. This part moves vertically up and down relative to part I and is composed of two rectangular steel shafts 56 and all other components fixed to two steel shafts. Part II is carried by boat if there is hydraulic fluid and pressure in hydraulic 92.

[0009] As shown in FIG. 7, element 52 comprises two rectangular tubes 54 having in each tube a rectangular shaft 56 where shaft 56 can move up and down vertically in tube 54. The upper portion of the two rectangular shafts 56 connected to each other with steel plate 58. Upper part of modified engine is mounted to this plate 58.

Thick plate 60 connects the upper part of tube 54, while thick plate 62 connects their lower ends.

The lower ends of two shafts 56 are connected through steel rod 64 whose two ends 66 extended sidewise of shaft 56 pass through cavities 70 of thick plates 68 to allow free rotation of plates 68 about ends 66.

[0010] Ski 80 is mounted to the lower ends of steel plates 68.

Switch 82 is mounted to front curving end of ski 80.

Switch 84 is mounted to rear straight end of ski 80.

Switch 85 is mounted to lowest point under boat hull at its rear end.

[0011] Switches 82, 84 and 85 function when immerse under water to turn on light bulbs 121, 122 and 123, respectively, on the control panel 120 as in FIG. 8 to light up. When these switches are not in water, these light bulbs turn off.

[0012] Rings 86 are fixed at posterior ends both sides of ski 80. Rings 88 are fixed at lower ends of both shafts 56 above plates 68.

When shafts 56 move up, rings 88 move into groove 90 of tubes 54.

[0013] Hydraulic 92 locates between plates 60 and 62 by hanging from mid point of plate 60 through hook 94.

Hook 96 of stem 98 holds rod 64 at its midpoint where stem 98 passes through cavity 63 of plate 62.

[0014] Ski 80 is pushed or pulled to a desired angle by hydraulics 102 connecting between rings 86 located sidewise at the posterior of the ski and rings

88 at shafts 56 just above plate 68.

[0015] Steel plates 104 are upright at rear end of boat 50 on each side. Steel rod 106 connects two plates 108.

Each steel plate 108 is mounted to tube 54 on each side and turns pivotally around rod 106 having its ends pass through cavities 107 of plates 104.

[0016] Hydraulic 110 connects deck at position 112 and ring 1 16 of stem

114 mounted to cavity 61 of plate 60. [0017] When driver presses a switch to pump hydraulic fluid into the hydraulic, length of stem 114 varies and is under control of hydraulic 110.

[0018] This hydraulic 92 is key element in the present invention which functions to transfer total weight of engine from boat to load on water. When there is fluid in hydraulic 92, there will be pressure within hydraulic which causes the

hydraulic to connect part II tightly to part I. In this situation, boat carries total weight of engine and element 52 through stem 98 where hook 96 of part I holds weight of part II and engine while plates 108 is the part that carries element 52 and total weight of engine. Thus, boat carries total weight of engine. That is, part II is fixed tightly to part I at the point hook 96 holds rod 64 when there is fluid and pressure in hydraulic 92. Once there is no fluid in hydraulic 92, part II is then able to move freely up and down relative to part I.

[0019] Element 52 is thus composed of two main components. While there is hydraulic fluid and pressure in hydraulic cylinder, second part is held tightly and stationary to first part. But when fluid is exhausted from the hydraulic cylinder, there is then no force thus allowing second part to move freely up and down vertically relative to first part. In such latter situation, rectangular shafts of second part move freely up and down inside rectangular tubes of first part. The total weight of engine is then loaded onto ski structure of second part and while boat is moving fast, engine weight is thus loaded to water and boat needs not carry engine weight any further just like a man is skiing as in FIG. 9. Yet, engine still continuously pushes boat forward.

[0020] FIG.10 shows engine 42 of diesel type with lower revolution installed to boat 50 and no flaps since they are of no use. [0021 ] According to FIGs. 11 -13, a smart outboard boat is constructed and installed this element invented. This allows moving of boat better and in shorter time and helps reducing dimension of flaps, engine used should be engine 25 or 35 (FIG. 12 and FIG.13, respectively) which are of faster type to be installed onto plate 58 in addition to installing flaps 170 and flaps 172 at the anterior and

posterior, respectively, on both sides of boat. These flaps are to pivotally move by hydraulic system through a control knob at the control panel. Flaps 170 turn pivotally up to have wind presses front of boat down to prevent turning of boat upside down. [0022] If stem 114 is shortened, an element 52 moves to lie down onto the deck as in FIG. 14 to keep engine onto boat deck while boat is anchored. [0023] As shown in FIG.11 , switches along a vertical rod 149 activate the light bulbs at the control panel 120 to light up in a following manner:

At a height >0 - 0.5 meter, switches 154, 152 and 150 under water, light bulbs 160, 158 and 156 light up, respectively;

At a height 0.5 — <1 meter, switches 154 and 152 under water, light bulbs 160 and 158 light up;

At a height 1 - <1.5 meter, only switch 154 under water, only light bulb 160 lights up. [0024] Any electronics or any systems such as sonar system capable of indicating the level of bottom of boat above water can alternatively be used. [0025] A smart boat is invented having an element to help minimize load of an engine. This is an element to transfer total weight of engine from boat to be carried by ski which was loaded to stream of water moving underneath the ski. [0026] It is to be understood that the following claims are intended to cover all of the generic and specific features of the invention as described herein, and all statements of the scope of the invention which, as a matter of language, might be said to fall therebetween.
