The present invention holds the body position of a patient or an examinee to be stable when undergoing a medical procedure. This body position holding implement for medical use has a mat 1 and a core material. The mat 1 comprises an airtight bag 2 and a cushion layer 3. The airtight bag 2 serves as a cover for the mat 1 for supporting the position of a human body, has gas barrier properties, and has a discharge valve for expelling air attached thereto. The cushion layer 3 is a laminate of a granular material P loaded in the airtight bag 2. Provided to serve as the core material are: a plate-like support 4 which is attached to a lateral side (on the inner surface or outer surface) of the airtight bag 2 so as to secure a certain rising height for the airtight bag 2; and a stopper 6 that is mounted to the under surface and the upper surface of the airtight bag 2 so as to limit the rising height of the airtight bag 2, wherein these core materials are attached to the airtight bag 2 prior to expelling air inside the airtight bag 2, and used to shape the airtight bag 2 into a form required for accepting a specific part of the human body.
