Abstract:
Provided are: a body pressure support cushion that has a novel structure and that is capable of implementing an excellent body pressure distributing effect, etc., through a simple structure by means of auxiliary cells which aid deformation of support cells constituting a support surface; and an auxiliary cell that has a novel structure and that constitutes such a body pressure support cushion. The body pressure support cushion is provided with auxiliary cells (42), each of which, within an interior space enclosed by a flexible outer membrane (46), has an auxiliary expansion-compression chamber (68) and an action chamber (66) that are defined by a flexible intermediate membrane (62), wherein the auxiliary expansion-compression chamber of each of the auxiliary cells is connected to a fluid chamber (34) of a support cell (24), while the action chamber of each of the auxiliary cells accommodates an elastic means (72) that is capable of exerting, on the intermediate membrane, a pressing force toward the side of the auxiliary expansion-compression chamber.
