Abstract:
A body temperature holding device with heart rate and respiration rate detecting function for small animals simply and easily settable without providing pain to the animals and a heart rate and respiration rate measuring system for small animals using the device, the device wherein a sheet−like pressure sensitive sensor (piezoelectric element)(4) is placed on a flat−plate like heating device (1) connected to a heater current feed line (2) and sandwiched by thin insulating sheets (3), a spacer (6) formed of a metal plate having a hole at a position corresponding to a pressure sensitive sensor part is disposed between the thin insulating sheets (3, 3), the signal line (5) of the pressure sensitive sensor (4) is taken into a control device, a power supply is connected to the heater current feed line (2), and the power can be controlled by the control device, whereby the heart rate and aspiration rate of the small animals can be measured and monitored by holding the temperatures of the small animals, detecting the heart rate and aspiration rate of the small animals placed on the pressure sensitive sensor (4) with the pressure detective sensor (4), and taking the detected value in the control device.
