Title:
BOLT-TYPE IMPLANT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/143096
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In order to be able to bear an applied load, the conventional implant must be fixed by osseointegration between the fixture (artificial dental root) and the maxillary bone (including alveolar bone). Accordingly, the conventional implant includes a separate component called "abutment", and the abutment is typically coupled to the fixture by a screw after the osseointegration of the fixture.Because of this, the implant has a complicated structure, and the connection portion between the fixture and the abutment may be weakened. Also, the osseointegration of the fixture requires much time, which results in a long implant treatment period. To solve these problems occurring in the conventional implant, a bolt-type implant is designed such that the force for supporting the implant is achieved by the coupling force between a bolt and a nut. Further, the fixture is joined with the abutment so as to simplify the structure and thus increase the durability of the implant. Further, in the bolt-type implant, the force for fixing the implant to the maxillary bone can be obtained immediately after implant procedure, so that the implant treatment period can be significantly reduced.
