Abstract:
The present invention provides a spirostenol derivative, a composition for inducing a bone formation and/or promoting an osteoblast differentiation which includes the spirostenol derivative as an active ingredient, a biomaterial for inducing osteogenic differentiation which includes the composition, a pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing bone metabolism diseases, and an engineered food composition and/or health functional food which are/is for improving the function of osteoblasts. The derivative of the present invention is virtually non-cytotoxic, induces the formation of osteoblasts without causing a decrease in the activity against UV or the like, can be administered in vivo, and forms a complex with a substance having a bone conduction performance and thus is expected to be capable of being applied to medical devices and the like.
