Abstract:
A holder (10) for an osteosynthesis fixation device or bone plate (30) and the screws or other mechanical fasteners (40) for affixing the bone plate (30) to bone matter, the holder (10) temporarily retaining the bone plate (30) and screws (40) during the affixation procedure and providing guide bores (51) to properly align the driver tool and the screws (40) during insertion. The holder (10) is significantly thicker than the bone plate (30), such that it is easily grasped and manipulated by the surgeon.
