Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a bone prosthesis material that is capable of promoting calcium ion elution while sustaining effects on osteoclasts so that binding thereof to a bone can be achieved at an early stage. Provided is a bone prosthesis material that comprises a plurality of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) phases, said β-TCP phases having different concentrations of a monovalent cation in a state of solid solution. Due to a composite phase according to the present invention that consists of the β-TCP phases having different concentrations of a monovalent cation in a state of solid solution, the bone prosthesis material can promote calcium ion elution while sustaining effects on osteoclasts so that binding thereof to a bone can be achieved at an early stage.
