Abstract:

Provided is a cutting apparatus for neatly cutting an end part of a bookbinding article without distorting the end part of the bookbinding article or tearing pages thereof. A first and second cutting position (100, 101) are set, with respect to an end part (1a) of a bookbinding article (1) laid on a table (10), extending parallel to each other provided therebetween with a very small gap (X) in a movement direction (56a), the first cutting position (100) being disposed further to the outside of the bookbinding article (1) than the second cutting position (101), and a control unit (7) controls the action of a cutting blade drive mechanism (21) and a movement mechanism (56) so that the end part (1a) of the bookbinding article (1) is cut at the first cutting position (100) whereupon a cutting blade (20) or the table (10) is moved the distance of the very small gap (X) in the movement direction (56a) and the end part (1a) of the bookbinding article (1) is cut at the second cutting position (101).
