Abstract:
Provided is a boosting converter capable of appropriately protecting a low-rated switch from an overcurrent. A boosting converter (10) is provided with a plurality of reactors (11a to 11c), switches (S1L to S3L) connected to second ends of each reactor, rectifying elements (S1H to S3H) which allow current to flow in a direction directed from the reactors toward an output side, and prevent current flow flowing in the reverse direction, and a control device (30) which controls switching of the switches in order to boost a direct current voltage. The rated current of a low-rated switch (S1L), which is at least one of the switches and is a portion of the switches, is lower than the rated current of high-rated switches (S2L, S3L), which are the remaining switches. The control device (30) controls switching of the low-rated switch (S1L) and the high-rated switches (S2L, S3L) in such a way that the degree of protection of the low-rated switch (S1L) to an overcurrent is greater than the degree of protection of the high-rated switches (S2L, S3L) to an overcurrent.
