Abstract:
A holder for a boring tool, which is formed from a sleeve and has increased stability of
holding a cutting element to improve processing accuracy of the boring tool and
to prevent chipping of a cutting edge. In the sleeve (2) of the holder (1), the
bar-like cutting element (10) is inserted in a center hole (6) in the sleeve (2)
and is held clamped by clamp means (3). A slit (7) is provided in that portion of
the sleeve (2) which is from the forward end of the sleeve to the longitudinal middle
of the sleeve, and the slit (7) lies in a region from the center hole (6) of the sleeve
(2) to its outer peripheral surface. Further, the holder has a fastener (4) for
tightening the slit portion of the sleeve (2) to change the inner diameter of the
center hole.
