Abstract:
Provided are a boron removal device and a boron removal method for reducing the boron concentration in a processing target water, and a production device and a production method for pure water wherein the boron concentration has been reduced. This invention employs a boron removal device comprising a first electric regeneration type deionization device whereto a processing target water is supplied, a UV oxidation device whereto the water processed by the first electric regeneration type deionization device is supplied, an oxide removal device whereto the water processed by the UV oxidation device is supplied, and a second electric regeneration type deionization device whereto the water processed by the oxide removal device is supplied. The invention also employs a boron removal method using the device. Preferably, the oxide removal device is equipped with a platinum group metal catalyst, and the water that has been processed by the oxide removal device has a hydrogen peroxide concentration of less than 1 ppb.
