Abstract:
Provided is a borosilicate glass for medical containers, which does not contain BaO, while having good chemical durability and good hydrolysis resistance. This borosilicate glass for medical containers is characterized by containing, in mol%, 70-80% of SiO2, 1-7% of Al2O3, 8.5-12% of B2O3, 4-9% of Na2O, more than 0% but 5% or less of K2O, 0-0.1% of Li2O and 0-2% of CaO, while containing substantially no BaO and having a CaO/K2O value of 1.2 or less in terms of a molar ratio.
