Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a box packing device with which a flap of a cardboard box is folded so as to form a lid, said box packing device having high reliability and being capable of folding the flap in an orderly manner, without causing damage or shape defects to the cardboard box. A box packing device is provided with a flap-folding mechanism (30). The flap-folding mechanism folds a first major flap (A1) and a second major flap (A2), which are disposed on the long sides of a rectangular opening, and a first minor flap and a second minor flap, which are disposed on the short sides of the opening, such that a lid of a cardboard box (C) is formed. The flap-folding mechanism has a leading contact part (35) that folds the first major flap. The leading contact part presses a portion of an end of the first major flap of the cardboard box, which is positioned at a predetermined location, said end being in a first direction extending along the long side, such that the first major flap is folded.
