Abstract:
A box-packing robot comprises: a manipulator for storing objects to be stored in a storage container; a memory for storing geometric model data for the storage container and the objects to be stored; and a box-packing planning unit for calculating the empty area of the storage container using the geometric model data for the storage container, causing the manipulator to hold an object to be stored and move same into the empty area, finding a corner of an area in which storage is possible that is within the empty area and within the range that the manipulator can move based on the results of the movement of the object being stored, determining the found corner as the storage position for the object being stored, and updating the box-packing plan data on the basis of the determined storage position.
