Abstract:

A brain cooling device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, desirably comprises: temperature sensors, which are installed on one end and the other end of a cooling fluid transport tube, respectively, for sensing temperature; a pressure measuring sensor which is installed on a storage tank; and a control portion, which is connected to the temperature sensors and the pressure measuring sensor, for calculating the amount of heat which is absorbed from the brain from change in pressure in the storage tank and the temperature that is sensed by the temperature sensors. The cooling fluid transport tube and discharge tubes of the brain cooling device, according to the present invention, are bent on one side so that adjacent discharge tubes come into close contact with each other. The brain cooling device, according to the present invention, is directly installed on the dura mata or on an area where dura mata surgery has been performed, thereby effectively mitigating heat or swelling, can be effectively removed through a surgery hole, which penetrates through the scalp and the cranium and allows passage of a cooling fluid, after usage without requiring an additional surgery, and can effectively cool the brain without requiring separate mechanical or electrical equipment by using gasified liquid nitrogen or similar as the cooling fluid. In addition, the present invention can effectively discharge blood or similar, which collect in the surgery area, by using a drain hole provided on the cooling device.
