Title:
BRAIN WAVE REGULATOR – BWR (BWI)
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/208167
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Described herein, in certain embodiments, are devices and methods for modulating the electrical activity of a brain in a targeted manner using a weak magnetic field, generally field with a strength of less than about 150 micro-Tesla. The magnetic field is varied over time in a periodic manner, generally with a frequency tuned to specifically affect the intrinsic frequencies of the brain. The "Low Field Magnetic Stimulation" devices and methods described herein modulate the electrical activity of a brain without requiring medication. Methods and devices described herein gently "tune" the brain and affect mood, focus, and cognition of human subjects. More particularly, the invention relates to individuals suffering from the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. The mechanism has the possibility to create a controlled-environment for the brain that produces any of the 5 brain-wave types(Gama/Beta/Alfa/Teta), and thus enhance the concentration, learning ability, relaxation and even calm the person down. This is done by sending electro-magnetic waves in specific frequency which in return activates the neurons to response through enhancing the production of a specific brain-waves. Thus, by our machine not only can we control which brain-wave should dominate at the time of stimulation, but also how intensely should it dominate.

CLAIMS:

1. [0025] A method for enforcement of brain into path of producing and

maintenances of certain waves patterns and thus into a specific mental status. Overnight and naturally, 5 main waves (gamma-beta-alpha-theta and delta) are produced and emitted in the brain. Due to individual differences and environmental conditions, only one wave can prevail at any time. For example, at the time of the arrival of the sleep, alpha wave, and during the wake-up phase, beta wave. So far, human knowledge has failed to directly control all of these waves without wire or electrodes.

The Brain waves in question is as mentioned in paragraph [0002], include but is not limited to Alpha, Delta, Beta, Teta and Gamma waves in all their ranges.

2. [0026] For the first time in the world, we have created a device that can

produce a wave that is intended to be generated by the production of vibrations out of the brain and without attaching it through a wire or electrode, causing the wave to precipitate and prevail in the brain. It is quite obvious that this is done by installing EEG devices and neurofeedback to the head.

3. [0027] This device is fully industrialized.

4. [0028] The method of claim 1, further comprising, can be used for settlement of certain brain waves pattern and by doing so treatment of individuals suffering of the ADHD, insomnia, hypersomnia, Anxiety and stress and improvement of the concentration span of the individual and thus improvement of the learning.

5. [0029] The invention involves the construction of a brain waveform device that, without the propagation of any wire or electrode into the brain, is electromagnetic emission, capable of controlling or increasing a wave of major waveforms in the brain.

6. [0030] The range of effects claimed by the device on brain waves through generating a magnetic field is:

Delta (0.1-4 Hz) Theta (4 to 8 Hz) Alpha (8 to 12 Hz)

Beta (12 to 35 Hz) Gamma (35 to 65 Hz)

In addition, the devices described herein differ from some other devices including Magnetic Resonance Imagers (MRI), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulators (TMS), and Neuro-EEG Synchronization Therapy (NEST), LFMS devices in that BWR produces a magnetic field of lower strength. In another aspect, the devices described herein may differ from some other devices in that the devices described herein emit, but do not detect magnetic fields. This does not preclude the fact that the devices described herein may be capable of detecting magnetic fields, only the fact that in some embodiments a magnetic field is not detected and/or measured. Table 1 compares aspects of various devices. In one aspect, the BWR devices described herein differ from the devices described in Table 1 at least in the fact that the frequency of the methods and devices described herein are more typically around 1000 Hz and above while the BWR works in the range from 0.1 to 65 Hz. In addition, the magnetic field intensity of our invention is by far lower than the devices seen on table 1. The magnetic field intensity of BWR is around 149.6 micro tesla, while devices seen on table 1 range from 50-60 Gauss, which is equivalent to 5000 to 6000 micro tesla.

TABLE 1

7. [0031] The device itself including 5 main parts (1) Power supply 2- Signal generation 3- Processor 4- Monitoring 5- Signal amplifier) 4) Sub-power supply (1) 24V power input 2- Bus output 3- Controller Frequency 4 is the voltage range controller).

8. [0032] The signal performance and signal strength are as follows: The signal is generated in the production of the signal, and then the AC coupler goes to the amplifier unit, where it flows 10 times, then goes to the final amplifier unit, which operates as a work piece, and 10 times the amplification of the current, and eventually goes to the outlet.

9. [0033] The field of application of this device is in behavioral sciences and psychology.

Description:
BRAIN WAVE REGULATOR - BWR (BWI) FILED OF THE INVETION:

[0001] The present invention relates to novel medical apparatuses intended for enforcement of concentration and relive of stress related symptoms such as, but not limited to headache and anxiety in users. More particularly, the invention relates to individuals suffering from the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. But a broad range of application is seen for the future of this apparatus, explained further in section for claims.

BACKGROUND:

[0002] After years of studies and what is well known in the neurological sociality, it has been shown that the Brain has the ability to broadcast 5 main types of brain-waves while operating on different levels, both on conscious and in unconscious level. The device has the possibility to broadcast the range of the 5 main brainwaves, including subgroups of the 5 mentioned waves. A pattern of brain wave activity is also seen in the human brain as its natural way during a specific activity or in a specific environment. In some individuals we can see an error in this part. For example, during learning process the brain emanates Beta wave at its primary phase. Now instead of Beta, if we observe a dominance of Teta wave, not only is it indicative that there is low learning quality but it can also reveal that the person has a higher chance of concentration disturbances as a whole.

[0003] The trend mentioned above can be seen in Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is characterized by problems in but not limited to, paying attention, excessive activity, and/or difficulty controlling behavior.

[0004] Our machine (Brain-wave regulator - BWR) has the potential to increase the concentration span and improve the learning capacity of the individuals as general, but especially those suffering from the ADHD. The mechanism has the possibility to create a controlled-environment for the brain that produces all ranges of the 5 main brain-wave types(Gama/Beta/Alfa/Teta/Delta), and thus enhance the concentration, learning ability, relaxation and even calm the person down. This is done by sending electromagnetic waves in specific frequency which in return activates the neurons to response through enhancing the production of a specific brain-waves. Thus, by our machine not only can we control which brain-wave should dominate at the time of stimulation, but also how intense the dominant should be. [0005] According to the treatment path now days for some of the problematic conditions referred to earlier, we believe that there is a need for a device which leads to improvement of the life for individuals, whom suffer from one or more of the conditions mentioned above.

BRIEF SUMMERY OF THE INVENTION:

[0006] The subject invention comprises an apparatus (- the brain wave regulator / BWR-) for enforcement and control of brain wave activity, and by doing so improvement of certain conditions. BWR has the potential to increase the concentration span, improve the learning capacity of the individuals as general, but especially those suffering from the ADHD. It may also be used as a treatment method for headache, anxiety, dependence and insomnia. The BWR has the potential to be used in many conditions, and thus, the specification and claims should be read with the understanding that such combinations are entirely within the scope of the invention and the claims.
