Abstract:
Provided is a brake actuator having a diaphragm which vertically moves a pressure plate according to the elastic force of a compression spring inside a spring chamber and the adjustment of air pressure inside a pressure chamber, thereby enabling the adjustment of the operation or non-operation of a brake connected to the lower end of a push rod which passes through the lower end of a service brake housing and is formed to be capable of vertical movement, the brake actuator comprising: a piston which is disposed in the spring brake housing and divides the inside of the spring brake housing into a spring chamber and a pressure chamber positioned in the lower part of the spring chamber; a hollow actuator rod which extends from the lower end of the piston; an actuator rod valve which is disposed on the lower end of the actuator rod; and a diaphragm which is disposed in the service brake housing and divides the inside of the service brake housing into a service chamber and a push rod chamber positioned in the lower part of the service chamber, wherein the actuator rod valve enables air to flow from the spring chamber to the service chamber when compressed air flows into the pressure chamber.
