Abstract:
The present invention provides a brake control device and a brake control method with which change in rigidity due to temperature change, uneven wear of brake pads, inclination of brake disks, etc., can be estimated with high precision, using a low memory load and extending to a region subjected to higher thrust than a measurement range. This brake control device controls a braking unit, the brake control device comprising a friction member that is pressed against a braked member, a piston that contacts the friction member and moves in a straight direction due to the rotation of an electric motor, and a thrust detection unit that detects the thrust of the friction member on the braked member, wherein the relationship between the thrust and the piston position, which is the rigidity of the braking unit, is estimated on the basis of a first piston range, which is the thrust change that is a first inclination in relation to the piston position, and a second piston range, which is the thrust change that is a second inclination in relation to the piston position and that differs from the first inclination.
