A brake curve switching control method and a rail vehicle. The method is used for controlling the switching of a brake curve when a rail vehicle passes through different lines, which have different maximum operating speed limits, and the rail vehicle has corresponding brake curves preset for the different maximum operating speed limits. The method comprises the following steps: a rail vehicle receiving information of a ground signal mark by means of an on-board signal device, wherein the ground signal mark is provided between a line A and a line B which are connected; the on-board signal device transmitting the information to a rail vehicle control system; the rail vehicle control system determining an operating state of the rail vehicle according to the information, and instructing, according to a determination result, a brake system of the rail vehicle to act and switch a brake curve. When passing through ground signal marks of different lines, a rail vehicle switches brake curves corresponding to the lines, to operate on different lines which are interconnected.
