Abstract:
The present invention ensures that the posture of an occupant is less likely to be affected by the operation of an automatic brake, and enables rapid deceleration of a saddle-type vehicle by the automatic brake. This brake device for saddle-type vehicles includes a hydraulic front wheel brake 32 and a hydraulic rear wheel brake 33, and a first control unit 31a that controls the operation of the front wheel brake 32 and the rear wheel brake 33, wherein a second control unit 31b includes a collision possibility determination unit 53 that determines the possibility of collision between the host vehicle and an obstacle ahead, the first control unit 31a includes an automatic brake control unit 55 for performing an automatic brake control that automatically increases the braking force of the front wheel brake 32 and the rear wheel brake 33, and if the collision possibility determination unit 53 determines that there is a possibility of collision, the automatic brake control unit 55 pressurizes the rear wheel brake 33 to brake a rear wheel 3 and, at the same time, pressurizes the front wheel brake 32 to a predetermined pressure P at which the posture of the vehicle body is not changed by the braking of a front wheel 2.
