Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a brake device that is capable of detecting a stroke amount of a brake pedal with high accuracy. This brake device is equipped with: a master cylinder unit that is equipped with pistons disposed therein and oil passages for a brake fluid to flow therethrough, said pistons engaging in a stroking motion via a rod that operates in an axial direction in response to a brake pedal operation performed by a driver, and said brake fluid having flowed out as a result of the stroking motion of the pistons; and a stroke sensor that is attached to the outer wall of the master cylinder unit and detects a stroke amount of the pistons in the axial direction.
