Abstract:
Provided is a brake device capable of controlling master cylinder pressure in order to perform control relating to both driver operation and vehicle behavior. This brake device comprises: an upstream-side brake fluid pressure generation device that boosts the brake operation force of a brake operation member operated by a driver and generates master cylinder fluid pressure; and a downstream-side brake fluid pressure generation device that drives a pump and a control valve and is capable of controlling increases and decreases in wheel cylinder fluid pressure. The brake device calculates driver target fluid pressure in accordance with the operation state of the brake operation member, calculates desired wheel cylinder fluid pressure in accordance with the vehicle and/or wheel state, and calculates the desired master cylinder fluid pressure on the basis of at least the calculated driver target fluid pressure and the calculated desired wheel cylinder fluid pressure.
