Abstract:
A brake system of an electrically driven dump truck which can enhance brake power
of a brake while sustaining fine operation performance of the brake. The brake
system of an electrically driven dump truck, comprising a generator (11) driven
by an engine (10), traveling motors (13R, 13L) driven with power generated from
the generator (11), and hydraulic brakes (20R, 20L, 21L, 21R) acted on by operation
of a brake pedal (18), is further provided with a hydraulic sensor (22) for detecting
a working hydraulic pressure generated depending on the stepping amount of the
brake pedal (18), and a controller (14) for making the traveling motors (13R,
13L) operate as a generator type retarder when the working hydraulic pressure
P detected by the hydraulic sensor (22) is equal to or higher than a preset level
P1 (i.e. when the stepping amount of the brake pedal (18) is equal to or larger than
a predetermined value θ1).
