Abstract:
This brake system comprises a main autonomous driving ECU, a main actuator, a sub-autonomous driving ECU, and a sub-actuator. The main actuator applies a braking force to a vehicle in response to a braking request from the main autonomous driving ECU or a braking request by a brake pedal being operated. The sub-actuator applies a braking force to the vehicle in response to a braking request from the sub-autonomous driving ECU. In the event the main autonomous driving ECU fails, the sub-autonomous driving ECU acquires a braking request from the main actuator via the sub-actuator and applies the braking force with the main actuator.
