Abstract:
A braking device according to one embodiment comprises: a rotation member; a linear motion member that can move in a first direction when the rotation member rotates in a first rotational direction, and can move in a second direction when the rotation member rotates in a second rotational direction; a piston that can press a brake pad in the first direction as a result of being pressed in the first direction by the linear motion member; and a protrusion that protrudes from the brake pad, is accommodated in a recess provided on the piston, and has an inclined surface inclined with respect to the rotational axis, wherein the piston that is rotated in the second rotational direction comes into contact, at a recess first end surface, with the inclined surface of the brake pad and presses the brake pad in the first direction, and when the protrusion is viewed in the first direction, the projected area of the inclined surface is greater than half of the projected area of the protrusion.
