Abstract:
The present invention relates to a braking system for a continental railroad vehicle and, more particularly, to a braking system for a continental railroad vehicle that: has both different types of distribution valves used in a standard gauge and a wide gauge, respectively; and switches such that brake air pressure can be provided to a distribution valve of the type used in the corresponding gauge from among the different types of distribution valves provided in the vehicle by wheel movement in a variable gauge section so as to automatically supply an appropriate braking air pressure to the braking system that is applied differently depending on the gauge, without stopping the operation of the continental railroad vehicle.
