Abstract:
Provided is a braking system which can enhance power generation efficiency of a thermoelectric conversion element by collecting heat generated at the time of braking efficiently, or by increasing the temperature difference between a heat source and a thermoelectric conversion element. A thermoelectric conversion element (13) is provided in the brake pad body (11) of a brake pad (3). The thermoelectric conversion element (13) comprises an n-type semiconductor layer (13N) and a p-type semiconductor layer (13P). The n-type semiconductor layer (13N) and the p-type semiconductor layer (13P) are provided in a recess (21) formed in the back surface of the brake pad body (11).
