Abstract:
The present invention provides a braking torque generator for an electric vehicle and an electric vehicle with which high braking torque can be efficiently generated without definitively requiring a flow regulator that is synchronized with the reciprocating sliding of a piston within a cylinder portion. An electric vehicle (100) comprises a braking torque generator (200) that imparts braking torque to front wheel axles (102a), (102b), which are rotatably driven by an electric motor (107). The braking torque generator (200) is provided with a compression/expansion machine (210), an airtightness degree regulator (220), and a clutch device (222). The compression/expansion machine (210) is provided with a piston (214) that slides in a reciprocating manner within a cylinder block (212) to increase or reduce the capacity of an air chamber (216). An intake/exhaust cylinder communication channel (213) is formed in a cylinder portion (212a) of the cylinder block (212). A piston communication channel (215) is formed in the piston (214) in a position where this channel will communicate with the intake/exhaust cylinder communication channel (213) while communicating with the air chamber (216).
