Abstract:

In a branch pipe coupling for dividing a refrigerant flowing through a main pipe into two currents, and an air conditioner provided with the same, size compaction in the vicinity of the branch is made compatible with drift prevention in the branch. A branch pipe coupling (181) comprises a substantially Y-shaped tubular branch (182), a first branch nozzle (183), a second branch nozzle (184), and a first split pipe (186). The first split pipe (186) is a pipe member to be connected at one end thereof to the front end of the first branch nozzle (183) during piping work. The first branch nozzle (183) and the second branch nozzle (184) are disposed so that the distance between the portion of the front end of the first branch nozzle (183) closest to the second branch nozzle (184) and the portion of the second branch nozzle closest to the front end of the first branch nozzle is 40mm or less.
