Abstract:
A branch prediction method and apparatus, a processor, a medium, and a device. The branch prediction method comprises: acquiring an instruction block to be processed, the instruction block to be processed comprising at least one instruction (S210); performing detection on the instruction block to be processed according to branch instruction information stored in a branch target buffer (S220); if it is detected that the instruction block to be processed comprises a branch instruction, detecting the type of the branch instruction (S230); if the type of the branch instruction is other types other than a target type, searching the branch target buffer for a predicted hopping address of the branch instruction, wherein the target type comprises at least one of a function call type, a function return type, and a cycle type (S240); and if the type of the branch instruction is the target type, searching other address areas of a branch predictor for a predicted hopping address of the branch instruction (S250).
