Description:
DESCRIPTION

Break off System for Paper Cutting Machines The Related Art

The invention relates to a break off system for paper cutting machines, which allows cutting perforated paper bags in desired dimensions without forming camber. Background of the Invention

Nowadays, machines with various characteristics are found for making paper bags. Said machines use two mandrels for breaking off papers. While one of said mandrels is used for holding the paper, the other one breaks off the paper. Since there is only one holder and one break off mandrel in the prior art systems, this causes formation of camber on the paper. As a result, a proper cutting operation cannot be achieved. The speed of the machine cannot be increased due to the formation of camber.

In order to perform the breaking off operation well, it is required to replace the gear or add additional parts to the mandrel that is called the holder. These operations cause additional time periods and costs.

Considering the above disclosed problems;

• The speed of the machine is not increased in order not to form camber on the paper and thus quicker paper bag production cannot be achieved.

• When the size of the paper bags desired to be produced is to be changed, an additional part is required, and addition of said part into the system causes loss of time.

• The production capacities are low, since the cutting speed is kept low in order to prevent formation of camber.

In the literature, a utility model application No. TR200503050 is encountered, which discloses in the abstract page that: "By means of the data input and control panel placed on the paper cutting machine, the roll cutting machine is enabled to cut roll paper in desired dimensions. Moreover, by means of the data input and control panel, the user and production information of the roll cutting machine can be recorded. While sharpening operation is conducted with the cutting blade and the sharpening stone, the position of the cutting blade is detected by means of the lower level sensor."

Also, in the literature, the patent application No. TR200701836 about the subject discloses in its abstract that: "The present invention relates to devices for cutting or breaking off paper rolls and equivalent methods for processing the rolls".

In the United Kingdom patent application No. GB190924412 (A), a cutting machine is disclosed, which provides production of paper, fabric roll etc. materials in the form of bags.

For said situations, need has occurred for a paper bag cutting machine break off system, which provides problem-free and quick cutting by preventing formation of camber between mandrels. Description of the Invention

From the known status of the art, the purpose of the invention is to provide a break off system for paper bag cutting machines, which eliminates the prior art drawbacks and performs quick cutting operation.

Purpose of the invention is to allow cutting paper bags in desired lengths, by means of the mandrel break off system.

Another purpose of the invention is to provide proper paper bag cutting operation without the need of an additional part, by means of the mandrel break off system.

Another purpose of the invention is to ensure quick cutting operation, since it prevents formation of camber by means of the mandrel break off system. Another purpose of the invention is to provide ease of adjustment by allowing cutting of paper bags of different weights without the need for an additional adjustment, by means of the rotation adjuster and motion transfer component found within the mandrel break off system. Detailed Description of the Invention

In this detailed description, the novelty according to the invention is only disclosed for better understanding of the subject without forming any limiting effect.

During production of paper bag, the paper found in the form of a bobbin is first attached to a winding-unwinding unit (A). Afterwards, the paper sequentially goes to a perforation unit (C), a folding unit (D), and a breaking off unit (E). Figure 1 provides a perspective view of the paper bag production line. If it is desired to provide the paper bag with any press thereon, then the paper is transferred to a press unit (B) following the winding-unwinding unit (A).

The invention relates to a break off system (40) to be used in paper cutting machines (50) found in the breaking off unit (E) to allow cutting perforated paper bags in desired sizes without forming camber.

Figure 2 provides a top perspective view of the paper cutting machine (50). Figure 3 provides a bottom perspective view of the paper cutting machine (50). On these figures, the break off system (40) is marked as detail A. Said break off system (40), comprises, in its most general form, a moving mandrel (20), which applies force on perforated papers to ensure compression during breaking off, carries the perforated paper by means of the rotational motion, and moves on the vertical plane, a fixed mandrel (21 ), which applies force on perforated papers to ensure compression during breaking off, and carries the perforated paper by means of the rotational motion, a lower breaking off mandrel (22) ensuring cutting of perforated papers by means of the rotational motion thereof, at least one breaking off surface (23), which is positioned on the lower breaking off mandrel (22), and breaks off perforated papers by means of increasing friction, a lower breaking off mandrel (24) ensuring cutting of perforated papers by means of the rotational motion thereof, a bump formed on said lower breaking off mandrel (24), a motion mechanism (33) providing said moving mandrel (20) with the rotational motion and the required motion for the compression in the vertical plane, a bearing (34) for allowing the movement of said moving mandrel (20) in the vertical plane, a rotation adjuster (31 ) adjusting the pressure that the moving mandrel (20) applies on the breaking off mandrel (22) according to the basis weight of the paper, a transmission component (32) allowing transmission of the motion taken from the rotation adjuster (31 ) to the motion mechanism (33), and at least one drive component (30) providing the required power to said mandrel system (40). Figures 4 and 5 are top and bottom views of detail A in the break off system (40) according to the present application. In the figures of the break off system (40), the moving mandrel (20) is found below and the fixed mandrel (21 ) is found above. However, these structures can also be preferably configured such that the moving mandrel (20) would be above and the fixed mandrel (21 ) would be below.

Moreover, preferably there are four breaking off surfaces (23) on the breaking off mandrel (22), and also these are made of rubber in order to ensure breaking off by increasing friction.

The way of operation of the system is as follows: During paper bag production; perforated pressed papers which come from moulding is fed into the mandrel system (40) of the invention in order to ensure breaking off operation, by means of the lower pulling mandrel (10) and the upper pulling mandrel (1 1 ). The perforated paper advances between the fixed mandrel (21 ) and the moving mandrel (20), by means of the fixed mandrel (21 ) and the rotating motion provided by the moving mandrel (20), and reaches below the upper break off mandrel (22).

While the breaking off surfaces (23) on the upper break off mandrel (22) contact the bump found on the lower breaking off mandrel (24), at the same time, the moving mandrel (20) moves upward on the vertical plane within a bearing (34). Said movement of the moving mandrel (20) is ensured by means of a motion mechanism (33) that operates with the power provided by a drive component (30). Due to paper basis weight difference, the rotation adjuster (8) is rotated by manual adjustment, and the pressure is increased or reduced by moving the moving mandrel (20) in the vertical plane by means of the motion transmission component (7) and the motion mechanism (33). If the basis weight of the paper is high, then the pressure is reduced, and if the basis weight of the paper is low, then the pressure is increased.

While the moving mandrel (20) compresses the perforated paper with said movement, the perforated paper is broken off (torn) at the perforation area due to the difference of rotation of the lower breaking off mandrel (24) and the upper breaking off mandrel (22). At this moment, since the breaking off surfaces (23) found on the upper breaking off mandrel (22) contact the bump found on the lower breaking off mandrel (24), and said bump supports breaking off by providing resistance on the perforated part in between, the perforated part can be separated (broken off) without formation of a camber.

Figure 6 is a side section view of the paper cutting machine (50). All the details of the paper cutting machine (50) are given on this figure. The broken off paper bag is transferred to the next operation via a conveyor (60) in order to apply adhesive at the tip thereof and be folded. While the paper advances on the conveyor (60), the adhesive is applied by means of an adhesive application system (70) and simultaneously, folding operation is performed on a drum (80). After the adhesive is applied and the paper bag is folded, it is stacked on the collection table (90). Figure 7 is a view of detail B in the break off system according to the present application.
