Abstract:
A breather device (20) which, when filling liquid fuel into a fuel tank (22), releases air within the fuel tank to the vicinity of the filling opening (21) through a breather path (24). The breather path has a lowest path section (48) located below a breather opening (42b) connecting to the inside of the fuel tank. The lowest path section is located at the lowest part of the breather path and is located within the fuel tank. The lowest path section is provided with a valve (46). The valve opens according to either acceleration acting on the vehicle (10) and/or the drop of the level of liquid fuel (Ft) retained within the fuel tank, and this causes the liquid fuel retained in the lowest path section to return to the fuel tank.
