Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a brightness measurement method capable of accurately measuring the brightness of each pixel of a display panel even when the images of the pixels overlap on a camera imaging surface. [Solution] In the correction-data generation method according to the present invention, when a solid-state imaging element camera (7) images the pixels of a display panel (2), the pixels of the display panel (2) are made to light and are imaged by the camera (7) so that the images of the pixels do not overlap on the imaging surface of the camera (7); central exposure coefficients indicating the portion of the total brightness of the image of an imaged pixel accounted for by the brightness of the central part of the pixel image are calculated on the basis of the outputs of the pixels that correspond to the central portions of the pixel images; peripheral exposure coefficients indicating the portion of the total brightness of a pixel image accounted for by the brightness of the peripheral part of the pixel image are calculated on the basis of the outputs of the pixels that correspond to the peripheral areas of the pixel images; all the pixels of the display panel (2) are made to light and are imaged by the camera (7); and on the basis of the resulting image, the central exposure coefficients, and the peripheral exposure coefficients, the brightnesses of all the pixels of the display panel (2) are calculated.
