Abstract:
The present invention relates to a broadband receiver and a reception method thereof and, more particularly, to a broadband receiver and a reception method thereof, the broadband receiver having a channelization receiver architecture for a rapid searching speed and broadband frequency scanning, wherein a front-end part applies parallel channelization and a back-end part applies series channelization, broadband reception is implemented through up/down-frequency conversion according to a channel, and a rapid searching speed is implemented by way of a switching change by channels, not by way of a frequency change of a frequency synthesizer. The broadband receiver and a reception method thereof according to an embodiment of the present invention involves: an off-chip module performing frequency filtering on an input spectrum by adjacent subbands at the same distance; a front-end part mapping the subbands received from the off-chip module to the same frequency range, by using a front-end part module corresponding to a plurality of paths; and a rear-end part selecting a channel by down-converting the mapped frequency range received from the front-end part, by using a plurality of iterative down-converters.
