A broadcast receiver provided with a receiving section which receives broadcast data, in which animation data are multiplexed on a plurality of navigation information trains composed of navigation information including graphics data which are displayed while the data are synthesized with the animation data, as a transport stream, a TS (Transport Stream) decoder section which extracts the animation data and the navigation information from the transport stream received by the receiving section, a reception control section which controls the extracting means so that the means can extract the navigation information from one navigation information train suitable for the broadcast receiver, a navigation information storing section which stores the navigation information extracted by the decoder section, and a reproduction control section which makes the animation data extracted by the TS decoder section and the graphics data contained in the navigation information stored in the storing section to be displayed after synthesization. Therefore, a broadcast receiver which can offer the video of a user interface by selectively using necessary navigation information from a plurality of pieces of navigation information can be realized.
