Abstract:

There is provided a broadcast viewing survey system capable of performing viewing survey regardless of the broadcast format such as analog broadcast and digital broadcast without posing a limit to a viewer or a load on a broadcast station. Video characteristic amount generation means (12) receives a video signal from a video viewing terminal (50) where the viewer views video, and generates a video characteristic amount as information representing characteristic of the video from the video signal. Video information transmission means (13) transmits the video characteristic amount generated by the video characteristic amount generation means (12) to a viewing survey server (2). On the other hand, video characteristic generation means (21a to 21c) also generate a video characteristic amount according to the program broadcast and store it in a program video characteristic amount storage section (22). Viewing program identification means (23) correlates the video characteristic amount received from the video information transmission means (13) with the video characteristic amount stored in the program video characteristic amount storage section (22), thereby identifying the program viewed.
