Abstract:
Disturbance of the bristles of a rotary brush is prevented to uniformly electrify the surface of a photoconductor drum. With the rotary brush (41) pressed against the surface of the photoconductor drum (21), the rotary brush (41) and the photoconductor drum (21) are rotated in the direction of arrows (A, B), respectively, at the same peripheral speed, so that in the region of contact between the rotary brush (41) and the photoconductor drum (21), the outer peripheries of the rotary brush (41) and photoconductor drum (21) move in the same direction and at the same speed. The bristles of the rotary brush (41) have their inclination set such that they are forward in relation to the direction of rotation of the surface of the photoconductor drum (21). Therefore, the bristles of the rotary brush (41) are lined up in the peripheral direction at all times, so that there is no possibility of disturbance of bristle disposition reflecting as electrification irregularity on the surface of the photoconductor drum (21), ensuring that the surface of the photoconductor drum (21) is uniformly electrified.
