Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for efficiently manufacturing a brush, wherein bristles requiring bristle tip treatment and tapered bristles that do not require bristle tip treatment are commingled, while allowing for fewer manufacturing steps therein. Also disclosed is a bristle bundling device that can perform appropriate bristle tip treatment to bristle bundles prior to implantation, while also efficiently performing bristle tip treatment of such bristle bundles. After bristle tip treatment is performed on the first bristle bundles, the first bristle bundles and second bristle bundles, to which tapering has been performed to sharpen the tips of the bristles, are implanted in a plurality of implantation holes provided in an implantation surface of a brush. In addition, the bristle bundling device is equipped with a bristle bundle transport unit, a bristle bundle supply unit, a bristle bundle recovery unit, and a bristle tip treatment unit. The bristle bundle transport unit comprises a rotary plate and a bristle bundle holding mechanism, and the bristle bundle recovery unit comprises a bristle bundle removal mechanism. The bristle tip treatment unit comprises a polishing drum provided with planar polishing bodies or protruding polishing bodies on the outer circumferential surface thereof.
