Abstract:

A motor case portion (30) including a stator (36) and a gear case portion (50) including a speed-reduction mechanism (SD) are integrally formed from the same material. Thus, heat transmitted to the motor case portion (30) can be directly dissipated from the motor case portion (30) to the outside without passing through the gear case portion (50). Accordingly, a brushless wiper motor (20) having increased heat-resisting strength based on improved heat dissipation can be provided. The motor case portion (30) and the gear case portion (50) are made of aluminum, whereby a large thickness dimension can be adopted to eliminate a lack of rigidity while ensuring sufficient heat dissipation. The need for separately manufacturing the motor case portion (30) and the gear case portion (50) is eliminated, and no steel plate pressing operation and the like, as is conventionally done, is required. Thus, increased workability of the motor case portion (30) and the gear case portion (50) can be achieved.
