Abstract:
Disclosed is building material, capable of displaying an image on a window glass or other transparent plate, which is effected with a simple and inexpensive configuration. A window member (5) comprises a display panel (11), further comprising a display region (11a) capable of switching between a translucent state and a non-translucent state, and a peripheral region (11b) that is formed external to the display region (11a) as a non-display region; a translucent cover (40) that is positioned upon the display panel to cover at least a portion of the peripheral region (11b) and at least a portion of the display region (11a) that is adjacent to the peripheral region (11b); and a pair of window glasses (3, 3) that are retained in parallel within a window peripheral (2). The translucent cover (40) is of a shape such that the thickness decreases from the display region (11a) toward the peripheral region (11b).
