Abstract:
The present invention provides a bulk material comprising a bulk organic metal compound, characterized in that a nanostructured organic metal compound is formed on a portion or entirety of a surface of the bulk material, wherein the organic metal compound is represented by MXn in which M is a transition metal, X is S, Se, Te, or O, and n is 1 to 3. A bulk material having a nanostructured organic metal compound formed on a surface thereof in the present invention is a material that is prepared in situ by continuously applying voltage or current to the bulk organic metal compound coated on electrodes, whereby the bulk material can be simply prepared as compared with a conventional preparation method for a nanomaterial, retains hydrogen production reaction activity and charge transfer kinetics at similar levels to platinum, and has high hydrogen production reaction stability, so the bulk material of the present invention can be favorably used as a catalyst for several electrochemical reactions including a hydrogen production reaction.
