Title:
BULLETPROOF, SHOCK-ABSORBING HELMET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/012583
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bulletproof, shock-absorbing helmet and, more particularly, to a bulletproof, shock-absorbing helmet having undulations formed in the surface of an outer helmet so that incoming shells are deflected by the sloped surfaces of the undulations, and also having shock absorbing means provided in a space between the outer helmet and an inner helmet to absorb shocks and prevent injury due to shocks that would otherwise be transmitted to the head and neck regions of the wearer when shells are deflected. While a previously registered bulletproof helmet may have the effect of being able to deflect incoming shells instead of having them penetrate through it, it is problematic because the strong shock from an incoming shell is directly transmitted through the helmet body to the head and neck of the wearer, causing injury. This danger of injury becomes a factor that lowers the morale of troops and reduces the level of precision shooting ability and mobility that are required in modern warfare. Another problem was that problems arose in terms of tactical strategy. The present invention provides a bulletproof, shock-absorbing helmet having deflecting undulations formed in the outer surface of the outer helmet so as to minimize the area through which a shell can directly enter and maximize the deflecting area. In order to absorb external shock from shells and maintain a buffer space between the outer helmet and the inner helmet on the inside of the outer helmet, the bulletproof, shock-absorbing helmet comprises: a plurality of first shock-absorbing means provided around the perimeters of the inner and outer helmets; second shock-absorbing means provided at the top; and third shock-absorbing means provided on the inside of the inner helmet. Thus, the life of the wearer can be protected, and injury to the head and neck regions can also be prevented.
