Abstract:

This bumper for a vehicle is provided with a metal beam extension part integrated with both the left and right ends of a metal bumper beam part. The bumper beam part and the bumper extension part each include a vertical wall part, an upper wall part, and a lower wall part. A plastic reinforcing rib is joined to the inner surface of an empty space formed by the wall parts. The extension dimension of the upper wall part and the lower wall part of the beam extension part is greater than the extension dimension of the upper wall part and the lower wall part of the bumper beam part, and the reinforcing rib in the beam extension part is joined to the vertical wall part, the upper wall part, and the lower wall part of the beam extension part. The bumper beam part is more rigid than the beam extension part.
