The present application relates to the field of energy storage elements, and in particular, to a bus bar assembly and a battery module. The bus bar assembly is configured to be attached to a plurality of battery cells stacked on each other in a vertical direction; the bus bar assembly comprises an upper-layer bus bar, a lower-layer bus bar, and an insulating component; the upper-layer bus bar is configured to be attached to electrode terminals of two adjacent battery cells on the upper layer; the lower-layer bus bar is configured to be attached to electrode terminals of two adjacent battery cells on the lower layer; the upper-layer bus bar and the lower-layer bus bar are connected by means of the insulating component. According to the bus bar assembly and the battery module provided by the present application, the upper-layer bus bar and the lower-layer bus bar are isolated by means of the insulating component, so that short circuit between the upper-layer bus bar and the lower-layer bus bar is avoided, and a safety accident is further avoided.
